Live Frog Presentations for Schools

Frog Presentations in Schools

Description Students will find that our local frogs are as equally fascinating as the exotic species they see on TV and in pet shops. I bring most of the species found in Wisconsin, northern Illinois and eastern Minnesota.

Classroom Sessions I do not do assemblies. I feel much more learning takes place in an intimate environment between frogs and students. I present up to 4 one-hour sessions per day. Generally, students sit on the floor around a tablecloth and I bring frogs out, one species at a time. One classroom per session is best though teachers may double up classrooms if necessary (about 50 students.)

Fee Please contact me to discuss fees and contract arrangements.

AV Equipment I show DVD video clips of calling male frogs and will need a video projector or TV/DVD player.

Concepts are grade level-dependent. Animal behavior, life cycle, body structures, classification, vocalizations, camouflage, sexual dimorphism, feeding strategies, aquatic/terrestrial habitats, nocturnal/diurnal behavior, hibernation, populations.

Science standards My frog presentations meet numerous national and sate science standards.
